The project required the fit out of office accommodation for a youth-friendly, community-based health service for young people aged between 12 and 25 years. The fit out included the construction of soundproof consultation and treatment rooms, kitchenette facilities, disabled ablution amenities, built-in workstations and internal partitioning to the tenants' requirements. It also involved the installation of IT infrastructure and security facilities.
This project was more than an exciting assignment with a challenging time frame; it was an opportunity to demonstrate the complete capabilities of Shelford Constructions. In three and a half weeks, an empty building was transformed into a vibrant and exciting space where the youth of Rockingham feel welcome and at ease with their environment. A partnership between headspace Rockingham (the tenant), KI (the owners) and Shelford Constructions (the builders), the establishment of this much needed facility would not have been possible without the support of the local community, in particular the City of Rockingham, who were uncompromising in their demolition of every obstacle to achieving occupation. Shelford Constructions also recognizes the remarkable contribution made to the success of this project by its preferred suppliers and its dedicated site personnel.
